Sometimes I feel like I never really switch off. We’re constantly bombarded – with content, people, and a nonstop stream of new impressions.
So how do you use your time best when you’re truly alone?
My friends at Hampton suggested I try a ThinkWeek. A full week alone with my thoughts and ideas, no input from the outside.

You know me—I like to move fast—so I turned it into a ThinkWeekend. I spent a few days alone at my friends Ara and James’s amazing Airbnb
Hier klicken in Joshua Tree (we are currently working on a promo code – also check out their main business, the JT Trading Post
jttradingpost.com). Just me, flip charts, pens, and lots of room for ideas.
It took me at first half a day to arrive mentally and clear my head. A run, a dip in the hot tub, cooking something simple, making some cool content. Then I got started. And it went very differently than expected.

I thought I’d once again work on a brand-new business idea. Classic Benni. Instead, I doubled down on things I’m already doing (I already wrote about this last week). LinkedIn is a lot of fun right now, so I drafted a few posts. I also spent more time on filmmaking and all the tools again. All the things I usually don’t have time for in the day-to-day as a CEO, with all the to-dos and responsibilities. And those two days were just for me.

As I’m writing this, I’m on my way back to L.A. with a clear head and goals for 2026. I had a lot of it in mind already, but this weekend really helped me bring it all together. I can recommend a ThinkWeek (or a ThinkWeekend) to everyone.
- Go to a new environment.
- Do it alone.
- Bring paper and pens.
- Put your phone away.
That’s it for this week. Merry Christmas!
See you next Friday! ✌️
