Hello,

This week, we’re talking out-of-home, viral campaigns, and some insane marketing moves – plus a few personal insights from San Francisco.

First up: a story that blew my mind

A 21-year-old entrepreneur – kicked out of Columbia and Harvard – built a $120 million A.I. company called Cluely. Watch here.

What got him viral attention?
A single billboard in Times Square. Simple, bold, direct:

It’s genius. Not just because it’s flashy, but because it leverages trust, attention, and timing. You don’t need 50 billboards to make an impact – one well-placed, memorable piece can go viral on its own.

Takeaway for brands: Out-of-home isn’t about coverage. It’s about quality over quantity. One smart placement, paired with social amplification, can create more buzz and credibility than an entire city full of generic ads. Send a few influencers to capture it, post it, share it – and watch it spread.

Next, our own out-of-home activation in Germany

We ran a small campaign in Berlin and Leipzig for our next huge marketing event TRENDCON in Leipzig on September 25th. Learn more.

The theme? Smart marketing decisions when budgets are tight.

The result? High engagement, low spend. Another reminder that you don’t need huge budgets to leave a lasting impression – it’s about strategy, creativity, and targeting the right audience.

And speaking of strategy

Justin Bieber just dropped his new album, Swag 2, with a similar approach. One strong billboard, a few clever touches, amplified online – enough to make waves. This reinforces the idea: the trust generated by out-of-home placements often matters more than sheer quantity.

Meanwhile, I’m here for HubSpot’s Inbound Conference. Tons of insights on lead nurturing and their new Loop concept, read more, which we’ll be testing over the next weeks at BDX.

If you’re out and about this week, keep an eye on cool billboards – and if you spot something, send me a photo. I’m a huge fan of smart, bold executions.

That’s it for this week. Out-of-home, budget hacks, viral campaigns – plenty of inspiration to take into your week. See you next Friday! ✌️
